Ok so with the previous ideas in mind i felt by themselves they wouldnt be enough.
Using them in particle simulations might be a direction to go and having seen soem fantastic things done in ice resently and have a little experience it seemed an exciting direction.
So intresting partcle stuff was maybe on the agenda, but in what format
I felt it had to represent teh event its self in some way , (an inside look into teh business side of teh animation and games industry)
the inside look idea was what grabbed me
(inside the machine, organisism , process....etc)
the stand outs were
i think its fantastic use of doubling up elements ( more bang for your buck )
also very good refence to teh phycologicial side of things
and along the same vain

Simular reasons as the above, nice textures, feel, inky , visually intrancing ... A direction? food for thought
